Comfort
Passengers in the backseat will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Mazda CX-5 than in the Lexus RX 350, due to its greater head- and legroom.
The Mazda CX-5 offers just a little more front head- and legroom than the Lexus RX 350, offering the driver and front passenger a bit more room and comfort.

Convenience
The Lexus RX 350 requires fewer stops at the gas station than the Mazda CX-5, making it more convenient to drive.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). The Lexus RX 350 will definitely make more of a dent in your wallet than the Mazda CX-5, which has a much lower MSRP.

Dimensions
Since the Lexus RX 350 is much wider than the Mazda CX-5, finding a wide enough spot in a parking lot may be a bit more challenging.
If you go with the Lexus RX 350, you may be circling the block looking for a space large enough to park more often than with the Mazda CX-5.

Handling
The Lexus RX 350 has a larger turning radius than the Mazda CX-5, making it slightly more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
When considering towing capacity, the Lexus RX 350 is clearly the choice over the Mazda CX-5 for pulling heavy loads.
When it comes to horsepower, the Lexus RX 350 greatly out-muscles the Mazda CX-5.

Powertrain
Due to its much higher torque, the Lexus RX 350 does a much better job of transmitting its engine's horsepower to its wheels than the Mazda CX-5.

Utility
In terms of seating, you'll be able to fit about the same number of people in both the Lexus RX 350 and the Mazda CX-5.
The Lexus RX 350 has significantly less cargo capacity than the Mazda CX-5.
