Comfort
Due to its greater rear head- and legroom, backseat passengers will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Honda Civic than the MINI Hardtop.
As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the Honda Civic and the MINI Hardtop in the front seats.
Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the Honda Civic as you will with the MINI Hardtop, as they get the same number of miles per tank of gas.
Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Honda Civic will have less of an impact on your bank account than the MINI Hardtop.
Dimensions
Since the Honda Civic is much wider than the MINI Hardtop, finding a wide enough spot in a parking lot may be a bit more challenging.
If you go with the Honda Civic, you may be circling the block looking for a space large enough to park more often than with the MINI Hardtop.
Handling
The Honda Civic has about the same turning radius as the MINI Hardtop, allowing equal maneuverability in and out of tight spots.
Performance
The Honda Civic has less horsepower than the MINI Hardtop, so it will probably be somewhat slower.
Powertrain
With its lower torque, the Honda Civic doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the MINI Hardtop.
Utility
The Honda Civic offers greater seating capacity than the MINI Hardtop, making it a better choice for those who find themselves chauffeuring others around.
